Long Core-Pulling Hookah Pipe Mold Solution
Product Requirements:
Dubai customer project – hookah pipe. No 3D or 2D drawings were provided; only physical samples were sent, with a request to build a mold. The product is in high demand.
Product Description:
Product dimensions: φ15 × 300 mm. Material: PC, mirror-polished.
Solution:
In response to the customer's requirements, we first assisted the customer with product drawing design. Because the product is relatively long, demolding is difficult and eccentricity is likely to occur. In the mold design, a slide core-pulling mechanism was used for demolding. A locating feature was added to each slide core to prevent eccentricity. Sufficient cooling channels were designed into the slide cores to shorten the molding cycle. Considering the customer's high demand, the mold was designed as an 8-cavity mold, which both met the customer's demand and saved costs.
Results:
The mold met mass production requirements at T1, and the customer was very satisfied.
