Product Requirements:
Automotive front fog lamp lens. As an automotive lighting component, it has extremely high surface finish requirements.
Product Description:
Material: ASA MP16-02 (modified ABS). Dimensions: 95 × 340 × 86 mm. Two parts per mold, one left and one right. High surface finish requirements.
Solution:
Based on the product characteristics, mold flow analysis was performed during mold design to predict and validate gate design, part warpage, volumetric shrinkage, and other issues, thereby optimizing the injection molding process.
Manual polishing is strictly prohibited on the reflective surface of the part. An imported Röders CNC machine capable of spindle speeds up to 42,000 rpm was used for machining. Combined with a proper machining process and precision inspection equipment, qualified products were produced.
Results:
After the T3 trial, the mold reached mass production status, and the customer was very satisfied.
